First off…this recipe is YUM! I was initially a little nervous about it, because I knew red miso had a very strong flavor. That being said, adding sweet flavors to the miso paste completely transformed the miso flavor.

If you are someone like me and like to add condiments to grilled chicken or add some type of sauce to their vegetable stir fry…then this red miso-sesame sauce is something you should try! It is a simple recipe that will take you approximately 5-7 minutes (the first time). It will transform your bland grilled chicken or stir fry, into something tasty but also HEALTHY! I am always looking for healthy alternatives to condiments, because let’s be honest…sometimes we need a little something, something on our chicken and veggies.

Miso paste is known for being a powerhouse in the probiotic food category. It contains beneficial microorganism that are known to support in the digestive process aka can help improve our gut health.  Not to mention it contains a ton of minerals that we need in our day to day diet, such as: iron, zinc, magnesium and calcium.

I decided to add the red miso-sesame sauce to my grilled chicken. I paired it with steamed broccoli and brown rice. It was delicious! Seriously, you must try this sauce! I am obsessed and you will be too after trying it once!

Ingredients:

-4 tablespoons of red miso paste (will be in the refrigerator section)

-1/4 cup grape seed oil

-4 teaspoons of raw-organic honey (I added a little more to make it sweeter)

-1/4 cup lime juice

-4 teaspoons of minced ginger

-2 teaspoons sesame oil

-4 green onions (thinly sliced)

-2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds (they are super tiny, so only toast them for approximately 2 minutes)

Directions:

1. In a medium sized bowl, whisk the miso paste with 2 tablespoons of boiling water (continue to do this until smooth)

*You will see that miso paste is very thick, which is why water needs to be added to it.

2. Whisk in the grape seed oil, honey, lime juice, ginger and sesame oil. Continue until the contents are well combined.

3. Now whisk in the toasted sesame seeds and green onions.

Tada! So easy and tasty!
